    Always the Weird Kid

Wirh the elections this past week I’ve had a pit in my stomach. I hate it. I don’t like this pretend patriotism and false sense of freedom. All I can see is people clamoring to control me.  Control others. And it sucks. It’s one of the most agregios acts of bullying. I am always the weird kid. I’m always the odd one. I’m always going to be in the minority. And I don’t mind really. Except the fact that others have voted themselves the authority to tell me I can’t be me. Looking at some of the issues on the ballots locally and nationwide I’m seeing our rights being eroded.…

    Jesus and Me

I was raised in a home with a Catholic mother who was active in the church and a Baptist father who was not. As far back as I can remember I disliked church. In my home it was used as an intimidation tool. I never listened to a sermon that resonated with me. I never felt the spirt. At least I don’t recall. I suppose the fact that I don’t reaffirms how I felt about religion in my youth. I just never gave it any thought. I was forced to attend church until I was big enough to stand my ground and refuse. I think I was 14-15. I didn’t…

    Story of Your Enslavement

When people think of enslavment they have a limited view of slavery is. They think whips and chains. They think minorities and white slave masters. That was our nations history, so it’s not usual for that to be people’s first thoughts, but they seem to stop there. Slavery has stages. Robert Nozik writes about this in the  Tale of the Slave. Slavery was never abolished, it just evolved. I think this little presentation was well made. I think I first came across it in 2012, when I first started listening to Stefan Molyneux. I don’t agree with some of his philosophies but he was on of my early influences from…

    Just Simply Nicole

I am a very simple person. I don’t wear makeup or flashy clothing. I don’t live in a big home or drive a fancy car. I like peace and quiet. I like being alone or in small groups. I don’t ask for much and expect very little. I like to write even if I’m not good at it. I don’t pretend to be someone else or something else. I’m Just Simply Me. Nothing more. Nothing less. Just how I like it.

    Axolotl’s

Last April I saw these adorable little creatures for sale on Facebook. As soon as I saw them I knew I had to have one. I messaged the breeder and asked for her to tell me everything I needed to know to have one. We talked I online for a few days and about a week later I was the proud owner of these two cuties. I named them Thing 1 and Thing 2. They are called Axolotls. Ax-Oh-Lot-L. They have an amazing story. Unfortunately they are endangered in their natural habit but do amazing in captivity. Ive had them for 4 months and have learned so much about them.…

    Consent

There has been a lot of talk about consent in social media this week. I should be a conversation we have more often. I follow two rules in life. Do all you have agreed to do and don’t encroach upon another. Simple rules and really the only two rules we need. Everything that is morally unacceptable falls under these two simple statements. But in our current society, these rules aren’t followed. Not by citizens and certainly not by our government. When I see the numerous posts about consent, it’s almost always about women and almost only acceptable when it’s applied to sexual abuse where the woman is a victim. But…
